Ok, Christmas has come and gone, and the Christmas spirit is lingering, but read on…

For fun, my sister and I were naming celebrities we would like to punch. Not sure how we stumbled into that discussion, but it was kinda fun trying to come up with names to top each other. My initial list is as follows:

1. Spencer Pratt, from the Hills
2. Tyra Banks
3. Kathy Griffin
4. David Hasselhoff
5. Carrot Top

Who would be on your list?

Merry Christmas to you and yours. May the holiday bring peace and joy, may Santa bring welcomed gifts, and may the Boogeyman beat those kids who were bad this year. (Foreign Christmas traditions sound so much more fun than those in the U.S.)

In the short history of this blog, I’ve written a number of times about traffic and my general frustration with it.

See:
- People Act Weird in Traffic
- More Crazy Driver Complaints
- and Reasons to be Thankful for Public Transit

But I had an interesting experience yesterday as we sat in slow traffic from Antioch to SF… I didn’t get frustrated. There were certainly moments where I questioned the decisions drivers were making, but I quickly let those feelings go as I consciously made an effort to not let it get to me.

It was surprisingly easy to do this, as all I had to say to myself was, “I can’t control that, just let it go.” That’s it and it totally worked. I am very encouraged by this and although it is somewhat of a minor victory (and obvious solution), it is definitely a step in the right direction toward a more balanced mind.

While I realize that complaining about traffic makes for better reading material than this mind over matter stuff, I hope that my experience allows even just one of you to try the same thing with similar success.
